About Harbor Line Media
We're a small earned-media studio built on a simple belief: the best coverage is the kind a journalist would have written anyway, once someone gave them the right story.
Why "Harbor Line"
A harbor line is the mark that tells a ship where the safe water ends and the open sea begins — the line you steer by. We named the studio after it because that's the work: helping founders and experts step out from the safe harbor of their own circles into the open press, without running aground on hype or empty promises.
The founder
Harbor Line Media is led by Marisol Trevino, who spent the first half of her career as a features and business reporter in Portland, Oregon, before crossing over to run earned-media campaigns agency-side. That double background is the whole point of the studio: she has filed on deadline and she has pitched on deadline, and she knows exactly what separates a story an editor opens from one they archive unread.
Around Marisol works a compact bench of former journalists, researchers and a data lead who builds the original studies behind our story campaigns. We stay small on purpose — every client talks to the people doing the work.
Principles we don't bend
- Earned, never paid. We don't buy placements or trade in pay-to-play "features". If a link or a quote isn't there on merit, it won't last — and it won't be us.
- Honest angles only. We will tell you when your story isn't ready, or when the angle you love is the one reporters will ignore. A pleasant no beats an expensive yes.
- The reporter's time is sacred. Every pitch we send is accurate, on-beat and easy to say yes to. That respect is why editors keep taking our calls.
